Nottinghamshire County Council Manifesto 2017

Whereas most National political parties are structured centrally, with candidates and policy dictated from above. The Liberal Democrats however are a grass roots party, where all power and decisions are taken by regular members and the many committees we work together through. In the local area, the County & City group work with all local parties in Nottinghamshire and Nottingham. This element of cooperation allows us to target our resources and activists towards the bigger issues our county/city face.

For the 2017 County Council Elections we have worked together to create a Manifesto which all candidates, activists and parties will work towards in the coming years. Not only in county hall, but in all campaigns where we fight for a Greener, Caring County/City which Invests in the Future.

James Harvey selected to represent Hucknall North

We are pleased to announce that James Harvey has been selected to represent Hucknall North in the up coming Nottinghamshire County Council elections in May.

After being selected, James made the following comments

“Having lived in Nottinghamshire almost my entire life and Hucknall for the last 5 years I am proud to be standing in the Hucknall North division that I now call my home in the upcoming election for Nottinghamshire County Council. I hope to be able to represent the views of residents of both Hucknall and Bestwood Village to get the best outcomes for these communities and Nottinghamshire as a whole in these challenging times.”

The state of our roads and pavements

The roads and pavements around our town are beyond a disgrace and have been neglected for too long. While many of our main roads are maintained, to a degree our residential streets are left to degrade and cause damage to residents vehicles. Some smaller roads have not been touched for decades and due to the low number of residents, the complaints barely get heard.

Its not just the roads either, the pavements and alleys ways all over Hucknall are in need a thorougher surveying and repair or replacements when needed.
